The Quickening

This sculpture was completed mid January 2004. It was a commission for collectors of mine, whose son had a vision, and wanted to see it translated into stone.

This is the first piece I have completed in the new Brazilian stone my supplier has received. A very different look from the browns and greens of the stone I am used to. I look forward to sharing more pieces done in this stone.

Blended Spirit

This sculpture was completed in February 2004. It is a bit of a new medium for me, red deer antler. The antler was intricately carved and mounted on Black Belgian Marble. The antler is quite hard, much harder than soapstone, so a lot of time was put into this piece. The result was well worth it. After polishing, it quite resembles ivory, a very tactile piece. Blended Spirit represents peace, harmony and unity of all levels of the sea, earth and sky. At almost 3 feet tall, this is a formidable and impressive sculpture. Must be seen in person to fully appreciate it.
